The statements made on this app are for illustrative purposes only. For every minute a user refrains from touching his or her phone, she/he will unlock a small portion of a sponsor’s donation (10 minutes = one day of clean water). Time sponsorships start at $25,000, which represents the funding equivalent of 1,000,000 days of clean water for children in need.* The total funds raised for the campaign will be used for water, sanitation and hygiene programs in countries with the most need. The UNICEF Tap Project is a nationwide campaign that provides clean water and adequate sanitation to children around the world. With just $1, UNICEF can give one child safe drinking water for 40 days. Currently, UNICEF works in more than 100 countries around the world to improve access to safe water and sanitation facilities in schools and communities and to promote safe hygiene practices. Since 1990, thanks to the work of UNICEF and its partners, more than 2 billion people have gained access to clean drinking water.
For the fifth year, Giorgio Armani Fragrances returns as national sponsor of the UNICEF Tap Project through its “Acqua for Life” campaign. The company will donate $5 for each Acqua di Giò and Acqua di Gioia fragrance purchased in the U.S. from March 1-31 to the U.S. Fund for UNICEF. In addition, the company will donate the funding equivalent** of one day of water for a child in need every 10 minutes a user goes without their phone on the UNICEF Tap Project mobile web application, up to $75,000, from March 1-31, to support UNICEF water and sanitation programs. Giorgio Armani Fragrances will make a minimum guaranteed donation of $500,000 from all Acqua for Life promotions during this period.
Starting February 14, 2014, the UNICEF Tap Project will get additional support from UNICEF’s Next Generation. UNICEF’s Next Generation will donate $0.025 to the U.S. Fund for UNICEF to support the UNICEF Tap Project for every minute a user goes without his/her cell phone, up to $100,000.
